Ausstellung "20 Jahre 2006"

05.-10.11.2026
k48 – Projektraum Oliver Hangl

Were movies better back then? Clothes? Football? Sex? Who knows. The profound blog posts are gone, the old YouTube videos are a pixelated mess. What’s left is nostalgia for a time when we were younger – or not even born yet. 2006 was the year before the first iPhone, before Harry Potter ended, before the financial crisis. A last moment before the era of constant connectivity and depression. But was 2006 really the end of something – or the root of all evil? The art world was booming, promising fame and glamour. The internet still passed for a free, utopian space. Every kid dreamed of waking up one morning to find out they were a wizard and getting their letter from Hogwarts. Twenty years later, we’ve all become dreamers, artists, and wizards – or at least something very, very special. But we hate it.
