(k48 #232)

Innen an außen! Wir reagierten im Juni 2020 spontan auf die virusbedingten Beschränkungen mit einem neuen Projekt und laden seither Sprachkünstler*innen ein, das große k48-Schaufenster für jeweils ein paar Wochen zu beschreiben. Kurator: Oliver Hangl

Love Is Who You Are is a counter-motto structured as a secular litany, written on the k48 vitrine for the duration of the Tableau Vivant exhibition. The text operates as an invocation, extending the performative and ethical dimension of the exhibition by adding a contemplative, incantatory layer. The work responds to the historical charge of the inscription “Arbeit macht frei” found in Nazi camps by proposing an affirmative ethical horizon grounded in ecological reciprocity, care, mercy, and radical imagination.k48_232.2Jatun Risba is a Slovenian transmedia artist whose work engages with ecofeminist and posthumanist discourses through performance art, conceptual art, relational art and practices of abjection, détournement and art intervention. Their practice cultivates reciprocity between species by altering & awakening sensory awareness through Vajrayana Buddhist practices and deviant uses of technology. Their research explores the vital significance, artistic and alchemic potential of chosen vibrant matter like chlorophyll, menstrual blood, urine, CSF. Their practice evolves along two main trajectories: Arts for Health and Art as Nutrition. Informed by their lived experience of radical self-healing from Multiple Sclerosis (2012–2019), Risba’s art unfolds as both experimental inquiry and transformative practice. They hold a BA (Hons) Degree from NABA, Milan and a PGC in Art & Science from Central Saint Martins – UAL.
